Li"V"ing in God's Will

Ever ask the question, What is God’s will for my life??

At big decision making moments in my life I find myself asking that question quite often. I want to know exactly what the future has in stored so that I can make the right decision in my life. Well…..life doesn’t work like that. As matter a fact if I knew where life was taking me I don’t know if I would make the same decisions I have made and miss out on a lot on what God has taught me. See God knows best and sometimes we want the same authority that God has in knowing our own future, but we can’t.

Although, we do not know what the future has instored for us that should not stop us from making a wise decision in living with purpose. So what is God’s will in my life?

Let me share an illustration that was once shared with me….. many of us think that the will of God looks like this “/\” where in order to stay in the will of God we need to stay on top. If we make a bad decision we fall off the will of God and then we have to climb ourselves back up to the top. I think the will of God looks more like the letter “V” where we are at the bottom and when we make a “wrong” decision we dont fall off, but we roll up the sides. With God’s great sovereignty he guides us back to the middle, even when we don’t know He is working. God’s will brings us back to Him, and keeps us on the right path. Now, I am not saying that we can make any crazy and sinful decision we want and we will fall back to God’s will……I am saying, in the moments of big decisions let us be wise, but know that as long as we are truly in prayer and in His word; We will remain in his will.
